First, for the record, I did not compile the list. That said, my understanding is that Rubel was not included for the same reason MarketingSherpa does not include him in there annual PR blog awards: Rubel rarely talks about PR; MicroPersuasion is a tech and gadget blog. - Amanda
It should also be said that Alexa rankings are highly subjective (what isn't). Alexa only counts traffic from browsers that are loaded with its toolbar. It's a plugin, which requires some proactive action on the part of surfers.
That said, I am just happy that I am somewhere in the middle of the pack. :-)
Alexa's user base is a fair and accurate statistical sample of the Internet user population.
Would I do better to include an "Install Alexa!" banner on my site?
Yes Ike, it would probably help. What would help more is installing it yourself and visiting your site a lot. :-) Alexa is as close an open-source ranking system as we will get.
I'm already the only person visiting my site. Will Alexa tell me how many times I check it? ;)

Funny how the rankings change once you also factor in a site's Technorati and Google Page Ranks (in addition to Alexa). Strumpette's top five list changes as follows:

Wow, I am still !1! See, to tell you the truth, I am actually not a PR guy, I am a maestro SEO guru. It's the truth, ask anyone.
I'm just bummed that I switched URLs from blogspot to briansolis.com so soon before this list was compiled. I lost my alexa and technorati rankings in the process, so I had to start from scratch. But, even still, in 3 months after the switch, I am at 226,525k on Alexa and 41k on Technorati. Do I make the list now?
Next time you consider doing something like that, there are ways to ease Google over. :)

According to Strumpette's article, Alexa Web Rankings: Chapel Tops PR’s A-List, Todd Defren and Amanda Chapel are first and second PR bloggers according to Alexa. Well, Chris Abraham's Alexa rank is 108,077, over 27k better ranked than Mr. Defren. Amateurs....
