What a year! One noted professor says we made PR history! Well Hell, some of us have never been so insulted. :)
Seriously, '07 couldn't have been more fun. In closing out the year, "for auld lang syne," we'd like to thank the following people for their support and participation... and in some cases quiet but steadfast encouragement. It is our distinct pleasure to announce the selection of the 2007 Person of the Year. The editors and writers at Strumpette have selected Loren Feldman, President of 1938 Media.
Feldman is one of the premier videographers working on the Web today. He's also one of the strongest voices out there advocating a rational understanding of the true benefits and risks of social media.
The selection is not without controversy. Brian Connolly, senior editor at Strumpette said, "We know the choice is a surprise to many. Loren isn't even in PR. But he's uniquely demonstrated character and integrity seldom seen in the communications business today. People like that make us all stronger. Loren's fearless, selfless and tireless in his ongoing effort to keep us all honest."
On Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 7:41 AM, Ronn Torossian, President and CEO of 5WPR, emphatically promised that he was going to sue us. No real reason, he was just irritated by our teasing him about getting in bed with pornographer Joe Francis. Anyway, Ronn gave his obscenity-laced word that we'd see the complaint in 72 hours.
