It is our distinct pleasure to announce the selection of the 2007 Person of the Year. The editors and writers at Strumpette have selected Loren Feldman, President of 1938 Media.
Feldman is one of the premier videographers working on the Web today. He's also one of the strongest voices out there advocating a rational understanding of the true benefits and risks of social media.
The selection is not without controversy. Brian Connolly, senior editor at Strumpette said, "We know the choice is a surprise to many. Loren isn't even in PR. But he's uniquely demonstrated character and integrity seldom seen in the communications business today. People like that make us all stronger. Loren's fearless, selfless and tireless in his ongoing effort to keep us all honest."
Other finalists this year included: John Stauber, founder and executive director, Center for Media & Democracy; Jack O'Dwyer, Editor-In-Chief of O'Dwyer's Newsletter; and our own Amanda Chapel, former managing editor of Strumpette.
On hearing he'd been selected, Feldman said: "It all ends this year for the alleged A-List. That's a promise. People will see the light finally; most are full of shit. I can't wait."
EDITOR'S NOTE
Prior to founding 1938 Media, Feldman founded and published NY Hotshot magazine and was a creative director at MusicVision, an interactive advertising agency. There he developed online advertising campaigns for companies such as Nokia and Scion. Before focusing exclusively on the Internet, Loren worked as an actor and independent filmmaker in Los Angeles.
