Does Ronn Torossian have a certain fondness for online porn? I don’t know. But I do know it’s reared it ugly head again. Boing! Maybe he should just sit down for a while; think of cold mountain streams and such.
Alright, by way of background, back in February we questioned the judgement of 5W PR CEO Ronn Torossian. He had just gotten in bed with porn king Joe Francis. Sure, there’s money to be made in Hot Barely-Legal Girl-on-Girl Action; but... we’re convinced that let alone what it says about the PR business, ironically it just might impact the future of one of PR’s most prolific self-proclaimed rising stars. For instance, what if a year from now Ronn wanted to take on NAMBLA (North American Man/Boy Love Association) as a client? Well, obviously, those guys are gonna think twice about some PR flack all gaga over young girls.
Well, now it’s apparently happened again. 5WPR client Stickam, the free live streaming video and video conferencing site, has gotten caught with their pants down. Alex Becker, a former vice president of Stickam.com, is not only accusing the Web site of being “a pornographic trap for teenage users;” he claims that Stickam has “close ties to a large online pornography business.” According to Becker and internal documents, Stickam is owned by Advanced Video Communications which is owned by Wataru Takahashi, a Japanese businessman who also owns and operates a vast network of Web sites offering live sex shows over Web cameras. Reportedly, Stickam even shares office space, employees and computer systems with the pornographic Web sites.
Donna Rice Hughes, president of Enough Is Enough, an Internet safety organization, said that considering Stickam’s ties to pornography, children and their parents should exercise caution when using the site. “This is just another adult operator looking for a back door to the youth market,” she said. “For youth without parental understanding and controls in place, this can be dangerous.”
Speaking of “back door,” we called Mr. Torossian for comment. He was rather emphatic that we back door our mothers. We were able to verify that indeed that too isn’t kosher. According to Mechon Mamre, a group of leading Jewish scholars: “Kosher sexual relations are not necessarily limited to those that can lead to pregnancy. Anal and oral relations are permitted, if enjoyable to both marital partners, though Jewish men have a separate commandment to reproduce, and should generally end up having normal vaginal intercourse.”
UPDATE ON 5W CLIENT JOE FRANCIS
Jun 13, 2007 (AP) -- Two Florida women have sued "Girls Gone Wild" creator Joe Francis and his film company, alleging a sexually explicit video was released without their consent. Francis, 34, remains in a Nevada jail on federal tax evasion charges. He was granted bail after pleading not guilty in that case, but stayed in jail to avoid the possibility of being sent to Florida to be arrested on charges of possessing contraband and drugs while in the Bay County Jail in May. He is also charged in Florida with using minors in sexual performances, conspiring to use minors in sexual performances and prostitution.
