For as long as there have been lawyers and publicists each has been at odds, with the lawyers recommending hiding behind briefs and law books, while publicists have recommended openness and taking every opportunity to court public opinion. Now we apparently have the publicists giving legal advice and the lawyers are working on the next PR campaign? I can't wait to hear how the lawyers spin Paris out of this mess.
Paris can party all of the time and drink without the help of her publicist.
Paris can make questionable videos without the help of her publicist. Why should her publicist take the fall for her obvious irresponsibility? When you got money and looks, you can piss on all the courts because you have Strumpette backing you up. Anarchy to all!
I'm in, but I wish the letter used the word "like" at least twice a sentence.
I think that immigration, pollution, unemployment, and education are non-issues compared to this. In times of national tragedy we must bond together. I think the Governor should embrace Paris (but don't squeeze too hard, she is frail) and spare her for the good of all humanity. Amen.
Hey Paris, Call me. I got a few tips for you. Ohh, and quit whinning. 45 days aint nothing.
Death penalty? Come on....get real...Paris start acting like an adult, take your punishment, I can see her now, stomping her foot and screaming to Mommy and Daddy, its not fair, I break the law all the time, I crash into people and run, why do I have to account for my actions now? Boo hoo for the blonde bimbo.
Why should PH not goto jail?? Give us ONE good reason. The only people that agree are a bunch of ditzy immature little girls. Paris should goto jail for MORE than 45 days just like anyone who gets a DWI and refuses to do what is told for probation. Anyone else that deliberately breaks probation goes straight to jail, PH should have gone to jail THAT DAY!
Maybe, if Nicole Richie somehow gets arrested too, they can shout "Simple Life - 45 days in hell" ...
She should have more than 23 days, let her have her 45; if not more. Just because she is rich should'nt mean that she is above the law. I thought that was only for police officers and goveners? Especially if you live in New Jersey.
Paris should not go to jail, simply because I can't honestly believe the number of "average citizens" who (*CONSISTENTLY*) and (*FREQUENTLY*) break the law by driving while intoxicated, driving without a license, and driving without insurance all the while paying big fines here and there with no real consequences and no jail time. This Paris situation is absolutely ludicrous and laughable. If she'd maimed or killed someone, I'd understand substantial jail time, this is just a stupid power play on the part of a REALLY old judge with nothing better to do, and only transient migrant workers to torment on a daily basis.
Dawn, you're an idiot. The whole point is that regular people do NOT get that kind of preferential treatment. Even a silly bimbo like you would have gone to jail the FIRST time driving without a license, not to mention a DWI. She signed an affidavit stating she knew full well her license was suspended for driving drunk and she did it AGAIN. She is a spoiled brat who thinks the law does not apply to her because she is rich and famous.
Substantial jail time??? It's ONE MONTH! The law is the law no matter how old the judge is, power play. She BLATANTLY and PURPOSELY ignored the judges order to NOT drive. That was STUPID, especially for someone with the means to hire a car and a driver.
I am so sick of hearing about this. A twenty-six-year-old girl leaving the courtroom shouting, "Mommy, it's not fair." Make it go away. Kathy Hilton is the uber-enabler. Anyone else would actually have gotten a DUI charge instead of reckless driving, and would have gone to jail the first time driving on a suspended license.
And now there are character statements being released by Dad. Oh, really? It's hard to make sensible statements when you're on thorazine to keep you from sobbing and shaking. I will boycott all things Hilton. Won't stay there, won't go to conferences there, won't go to bar or bat mitzvahs there, won't attend wedding receptions there. Taking all my business to Marriott. I'll just tell 'em Paris sent me. Hope I get a discount. And a cable channel that never says the word Paris. (I'll pay extra for that.) Add Comment

Certainly, one of the biggest shocks in months to reverberate throughout newsrooms across the country happened this last Friday with the conviction of Paris Hilton. Unexpectedly, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer rejected the 26-year-old socialite's defense. Visibly shocked and tearful after the sentence was read, Hilton said: "I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted. I don't deserve this."
