We are deeply saddened to announce that the Captivating Caption Contest for April has had a most unfortunate consequence. Upon hearing he'd won the $500 first prize, UK marketing and business consultant John Dodds, author of the widely popular and globally read online publication "Make Marketing History: The views of a marketing deviant," lapsed into a standing coma. Just prior to assuming the totally vacant stare pictured right, the normally ebullient and effervescent Dodds mumbled, "to be paid by a strumpette is a dream come true."
Sponsored by Waggener Edstrom Worldwide – one of the largest PR firms in the world and arguably the smartest, coolest and bestest of the mostest - the caption contest was designed as a fun way for communications and marketing professionals to demonstrate the essential ingredient in this business, i.e. creativity.
In line with the rest of the contest to date, the response to April’s photo was overwhelming. After several days debate our judges chose Dodds': "Once aboard her Mexican steed, Amanda Chapel finally realized how battling the PR establishment had ravaged her femininity – damn she needed this vacation."
Congratulations John. JOHN! JOHN, SQUEEZE MY FINGER IF YOU CAN HEAR ME!!
We'd also like to recognize a few close runner ups: Ike Pigott; Alfredo Tryferis; Amy Kirschbaum; Dominique Brown; Doug Hayter; and Jessica Geil. Special thanks to all who participated in April. Good luck next month.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Stay tuned for next month's announcement. Instead of doing $500, we plan to raise the award to a thousand bucks!!!
