From the AP, STOCKHOLM, Sweden... Snoop Dogg, the 35-year-old rap star, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was held by police overnight on suspicion of using illegal narcotics, police spokesman Matts Brannlund said Monday. Police had stopped the car he was riding in around 1:30 a.m. Brannlund said that Broadus and a female companion showed signs of drug use and were taken to a police station. “He was deemed to be under the influence of narcotics,” Brannlund said. A small amount of narcotics also was found in the car. Seems to be a pattern: The rapper was convicted in 1990 of cocaine possession. Last March, Police arrested the rapper on weapons and narcotics charges after his performance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno." Last April, Snoop and five associates were arrested after a fracas at Heathrow Airport that injured seven police officers. And last November, a felony warrant was issued for the arrest of the rapper after the Orange County District Attorney charged him with one felony count of possession of a deadly weapon. Snoop’s PR guy, Ronn Torossian, President and CEO of 5W PR, could not be reached for comment. Headquartered in New York, 5W Public Relations, the PR firm behind such role models as Pamela Anderson, Lil' Kim and now Girls Gone Wild pornographer Joe Francis, is the nation's fastest growing independent PR firm for the last three years. 5W is apparently unencumbered by traditional PR Industry scruples. QUESTIONS FOR RONN: Are you familiar with the phrase, "You are the company you keep"? Also, we wonder, are you helping to market Snoop to the "youth market" like you're helping to market Girls Gone Wild porn? READER RECOMMENDATION: Apparently, Snoop has a business relationship with Girls Gone Wild. From the video's cover, "Introducing Girls Gone Wild -Doggy Style! I can't believe you went for the blurb on the box cover, instead of investigating this complaint about covered boxes: (it is actually on the Amazon reviews page you linked to above)
"A KID'S REVIEW First off, way too short and too much Snoop talking. Also this is like 99% flashing. And most of the girls have average to small sized boobs. The only t*****s I enjoyed were the one bar girl with gigantic ones. The girls here are supposed to have gigantic monsterous breasts. But they don't. But the biggest flaw is there are only like 2 girls in the whole movie that show their vaginas. What is the deal with that? Only two girls take down their panties. And they don't even get in explicit positions. They don't even spread their legs and show us the good stuff! I mean one of them touches herself but it is just OK, she doesn't get dirty enough. The other GGW films are much better. The vagina is the essence of a female, you have to show her privates. Buy this if you want some inoccent topless fun but if you want to see real hot girls get nude (meaning vagina exposed) get one of the other releases by GGW." Seriously, both Snoop and Francis are clients here. Why isn't Ronn threatening to sue this kid for slandering Calvin and Joe's good names? If a customer starts waging an online crusade belittling a product, isn't it Ronn's job to step in and fight aggressively like a good "type-A+" should?
