You do know the tide has turned, right? Here, once was that monkey-knife-fights with the likes of BL, Shel, Barradell, French and friends were a regular occurrence. Not so much anymore. Now it's mostly for spice and entertainment. Anyway, apparently, as they say, the market has turned to meet me.
Got this from one of the PR Bloggerati the other day: “I’ve definitely come to respect your opinions even more. You were right all along. I wish you weren’t ALWAYS right, since you seem 100% against PR. Any chance we’ll see a post featuring your ‘Sincere Advice to the PR World for How to Stay Relevant?’”
For the record, I am NOT against PR. It is my career and passion. BUT I am adamantly against all the abject nonsense. That said, I've recently asked a few select colleagues to help me answer the question above.
Today, it is my distinct pleasure to introduce a guest column by someone who needs little introduction. Michael Petruzzello is PR heavyweight. He's the former CEO of Shandwick North America, the largest agency in North America, and now Managing Partner of Qorvis Communications, one of the most respected and sought after firms in Washington D.C. He's the real deal and his message is real clear. Actually, according to Petruzzello, he's willing to stake his company and his professional future on these principles.
It's a sound bet.
