Alright, you ready for an all-out rant? You want some PR "buzz"? I'll give you buzz.
As I said in an earlier post, the wonderful Daze of Wine and Dilaudid are always followed by a deep an introspective depression. What I didn't tell you is that the tail end of the cycle is abject rage. Nerves fray. Imagine your worst hangover. You're too tired to move and too painful to stay put. Life is the TV blaring and the contrast is set to ultra high. "Mother's Little Helper" takes the edge off and God puts it back on with a vengeance. That grinding sound you hear is my teeth. It's during these times my colleagues assume well, "Amanda's on the rag." Not necessarily... but FAIR WARNING: It's tread lightly here at the Image Factory today.
So, who's in my sights? Well, unless you're new here, you pretty much know that I am particularly annoyed lately by what I call the Brokeback PR Blogger Club. That's a loose band of self-serving counter tenors who top the PR Pubsub List.
Anyway, yesterday made it crystal clear that a number of these folks need to be taken out and beaten. Severely! Here, it's one if not THE biggest stories of the year: "Former Fleishman-Hillard Execs Convicted on all Counts," and where are they? Nowhere. Not a word. And why is that? These evangelists of the "conversation"?! Because it just underscores what I've been trying to say, i.e. they're just not honest.

Funny. The irony of spinning their downsizing, reorganizing, of their company as an initiative to be authentic...is well, priceless.

Having to say that you're authentic means that you're not authentic.

Wow. Exceptionally poor positioning. Some of your commenters even seem to think it's a spoof. While I don't think clients will be put off by it at a consc [...]

Having to announce you are authentic reduces authenticity. It's like someone saying "trust me." That's when it's usually time to question any trust you ha [...]

I'm reading this and hoping (almost beyond all hope) that it's a spoof. I'm actually fearful of looking into it further to find out if this press release [...]
