Strumpette Opens Doors to Joint Venture Partners

CHICAGO - Strumpette.com today announced it's for sale. The popular web publication, independently appraised at $479,000, is looking to sell whole or in part. Interested venture partners are also encouraged to participate.

Cute but grossly inaccurate. The applet you are using is for fun, not business. It uses Technorati's API to compute a blog's worth. It's a simple link-to-dollar ratio.

That's nonsense, especially in this case. Links and traffic are only one factor that goes into a particular site's valuation. In the case of Strumpette, a true valuation would also account for domain, technology, content, brand, overall composition, extended brand potential and market influence.

Bottom line: the $479K figure is the lesser of two appraisals. It's actually quite conservative.
